The City of Tango

Buenos Aires, long known as the ‘Paris of the South’, the captial of Argentina is an extraordinarily attractive city, bustling with cafés and restaurants and a wonderful shopping street perpetually thronging with beautiful people.

It’s a city which never closes, where one dines relaxed and late, in fashionable places, or simply and well along the banks of the River Plate. The tango is Argentina’s celebration of machismo and tormented love and is the most authentic of the country’s creations. Imagine dancing it one night after a day of talks and inspiration from our guest speakers. You will!

BA, as it is known, hosts an opera house with superlative acoustics, the Teatro Colón, where we will schedule an opera or musical evening. Also on our itinerary will be a visit to the colourful port area of La Bocca; the chic suburb of Recoleta and its fashionable shops, and a visit to an estancia, a working cattle ranch in the endless flat pampa where gauchos and meat barons live in traditional manor homes.

All this and more will be your experience of the first Sfinx event in 2006.
